Average temp in Chicago?

Hi
I’m being sarcastic
I’m a VT kid who tries to get out of this Frozen fantasy kingdom. Some OOS people might know we don’t really have a Spring weather. I wonder if Chicago’s weather is lot better than here?
It looks lot better than here just by looking at the latitude…

These days I would consider Chicago a moderate to cold winter climate. You could see winter temps anywhere from below zero to 40ish degrees. Usually no more than a few days to a week at a time. Maybe 1-2 feet of snow with a lot of melting in between. Bad stuff generally happens between December and February. Spring, summer and fall are really nice.

If you are looking for a milder climate you should not be considering Chicago.

Two words…Polar Vortex.

Look further south.

The “average” temperature in Chicago winter is deceiving. One winter would be mild and 30 degrees above normal but the next winter can be polar vortex. Last winter we practically had no snow and temperature was above freezing most of the time. This New Year Day the wind chill was minus 30 and in February it snowed 9 days in a row.

I just moved here (near Chicago) from the northeast for college. Temp X here is colder than Temp X up there because of the wind. Like it could be 20F and then the wind hits and it feels like sadness. I love cold weather but I was not prepared for this wind.
