Avg. SAT II Scores for both ED and RD

Hi folks,
This is the year in which I will be taking 3 SAT II Subject tests. USH, Bio-M, and Math II. I have set a goal of atleast 740 on each of the tests. Will that be good enough? THe only thing im worried about is my standardized tests. My ACT will be atleast a 32 and im 50% sure i can get a 2.1k on the SAT. I cant find any avg scores for SAT II so i am wondering if any of you current or prospective students may have an answer.
THANKS!

I’m not sure that WUSTL or other schools really report average SAT subject scores, as most schools don’t even require them. WUSTL does not require subjective scores, although having high test scores may certainly help you in the process.

I agree with PsychoDad - so few people even submit them to WashU, so I doubt that any statistics you’d see would be statistically significant. It’s both a combination of it not being required + it’s in the midwest (which is quite ACT heavy, and a lot of people in the Chicago/St Louis metro area never even take the SAT, let alone SAT subject tests).

Adding on to that, now that you can pick and choose what you send (wasn’t an option when I applied - it was all or nothing from CollegeBoard), I’m sure any stats that WashU knows has gone up dramatically without giving new information.

But basically - imo, send anything 750 and up. A 700-740 certainly wouldn’t hurt (hell, a 600 probably wouldn’t even raise any flags or really reduce your chances), but SAT subject tests only really serve as a “booster” if anything.

For the record: I only sent my ACT. My SAT & subject tests were fine & in range, but my ACT was significantly better when you use the comparison scale.

Wow. Thats actually surprising. But im still going to take them because i believe i can get excellent scores on atleast the Math and Bio

You should only take SAT II exams for the other schools you will be applying to. I am sure your college list does not only contain Washu. If it does, the sat IIs are not highly considered during the selection process especially if you already have great scores on APs, Advanced classes on the same subjects. But please apply to more than Washu.

Follow your plan. I agree with Johnson on submitting 750+. The score on Math II is very scaled. You should be able to get a 760 or higher. You can also score high on Bio.

I submitted my ACT and my SAT Subject Test (Math II and Bio).
