Aviation Major: San Jose State vs. Embry Riddle

Ive been accepted to San Jose State with a BS in Aviation, which would be alot cheaper than going to Embry Riddle for the same major, which I also got accepted to. I know ERAU has a top-of-the-line Aviation program, but how is San Jose's Aviation program?? Which college should I attend??? Most pilot forums say it doesn't matter where you get your degree from...but I want a different opinion.

Sounds like you already know what answer you want! :D

I guess but I still want a second opinion

Hi collegehero - Of course the college you choose will make a difference in many ways and one of those is cost. I suggest you visit both schools and apply to both schools - that will leave your options open as you go through the admission and financial aid process. Until you learn what you might receive in scholarships, it’s hard to compare price. Then ask about safety at the schools you’re interested in, visit the campuses so you can really see what equipment they use, what the campus provides in terms of student life and who you may be going to school with. Find out about employers who visit the school and what kinds of internships are available. To my way of thinking, that’s one of the big factors that influence your success later in life - the people you go to school with will be the people you’ll probably work with in this industry.

Thanks for the tip!! Great advice!
