<p>I haven’t seen this discussed here, so I thought I would share my ‘trick’ to get from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham cheaply.</p>
<p>Rent a car from AVIS at the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport. Return it to the Birmingham Airport. </p>
<p>This works great for move in, when DS and I drive his car to campus. And I know he does not want to make the drive to BHM to drop me off for a flight, when he would rather stay on campus and get acquainted with new roomies, etc.</p>
<p>Is a one-way rental expensive, you ask? NO! Cost using an American Airlines discount code was $36 ($40 with taxes) </p>

<p>This probably wouldn’t work for students trying to get to the airport, because of age restrictions on rental cars. However, it works great for parents!</p>
