AVODAH - Yearlong service program (affiliated with Americorp)

Interest to know if there is anyone who knows anything about AVODAH. This would not be for the camp, but for the service organization affiliated with Americorps. Also, any info about Americorps would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi,
I’m an alum of AVODAH and also work as the Recruitment Coordinator. AVODAH is a year-long service organization for those 21-16 that combines full-time anti-poverty work, communal living, and learning about connections between Judaism and social justice. I’d love to tell you more about AVODAH and my experience in the program. You can also learn more at [AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps](http://www.avodah.net). Most participants in AVODAH are eligible for the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, and leave AVODAH with $5,350 to pay back student loans, or to use for future education. For more information on how you can use an education award, see here [What you’ll find here | The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award](http://edaward.org/)

Hopefully this was helpful!
Mollie

Thank you so much for the info! It really does look like a great program, especially the connections between Judaism and social justice.

When you were in the program, where were you placed and what kind of experience did you gain in the organization you worked with? Were the areas you lived and worked in reasonably safe?

Thank you!
