Avoiding early graduation

My son will have completed all of his requirements for graduation at the end of Fall quarter, but he wants to continue to take classes until June. (The extra classes will help him obtain a non-UCSB credential.) Does anyone know if the University will let him do that? He will have less than 180 UC units until Spring, but with additional credits he brought in from courses he took before starting at UCSB he'll be way over.

Is he a fourth year of a fifth year. If fourth year, you can stay for a minimum of 12 academic quarters (not including summers) no matter how many units you rack up. See here for more info and scenarios:

Thanks, rc251 - that was the info I was looking for and couldn’t find. My son will be 4th year next year, so he should be good to go.
