avoiding math 1b like the evil thing it is

bear with me, this question is different than the other math 1b questions because it has a twist! So I got a 5 on the ap calc bc test, so I could skip out of math 1a and the evil weeder math 1b and go on to take math 53 and math 54 with all the scary sophomores and engineering people. but I took calc in my junior year and I have Dory's memory retention so would that be death?
I think so.
OR I could take the conventional way and go with math 1a and then DUN DUN DUN math 1b?
ORRRR (this is where it gets exciting)
I could take math 1a to brush up on calculus, and then take math 53 or 54 (probably 54 because it's more useful and from what I've heard, easier)?

No really, I'm asking you. Please help me. I'm just a stupid freshman, I really don't know anything. oh and I'm mcb, non pre-med.

Take Math 53. You would be wasting money and 8 units which you could have taken for other courses.

I wish I did :p

Heh, taking two semesters of college calculus during high school is the way to go. Of course, my professor curved heavily and I basically half-assed my way to a B both semesters. What the hell, at least my political science concentration deflects the issue.

why are you taking 53 and 54 if you're mcb?

yeah if u got a 5 on calc BC, then you don't have to take any math, especially since you are not pre-med.

oh sorry, I forgot to tell you that I'm contemplating changing to the Chemical Biology major, which requires 53 and 54. Also, even if I don't, it's very likely that I'll be applying to grad school, most of which require at least one year of college math. then if I don't do grad school, I might be going to business school, and doing econ stuff, in which 54 would come in handy.
