I don't know when did that happen. I just found they have updated the award summary in Wolverine Access. Now it shows a higher CoA which reflects the increase in housing cost and tuition. Nevertheless, I noticed they have adjusted the grant amount accordingly that the net cost for my D is still the same (Thank God for that!). You can see the itemized CoA under the "Shopping Sheet" link. The net increase in CoA from previous estimate is $632 for in state. Your out of pocket cost may be higher than previous estimated if you don't have a grant that may be adjusted to cover the difference.

It must’ve happened in the last week because I looked around the first and it was still the old numbers.

It looks like grad tuition has gone up ~$600 for the year (in-state).

I’m happy with the update. My grant amount increased a few thousand dollars, and my federal loan amount decreased around $1000.

@Miw140 Good for you. Did that just happened last week? Or it was between the estimated and official FA after you submitted all the required documents for verification? I did notice a big change like yours in my D’s official FA notice after they received all the documents.

I’m not sure when it happened. Most likely within the last week or so. I’m so glad that they updated the award amounts to factor in the tuition/housing increases. I was worried that I would have to factor the increase into my budget. Did they send you a FA notice before all the documents were in? I didn’t get anything until after I submitted everything.

My S’ scholarship amount still hasn’t changed. So, it looks like the adjustments are only available for grants, but not for scholarships? Or, are we supposed to submit some additional paperwork to get the adjustment? If so, could anyone point out what that is, or where to get the info from? Thanks!

We did get the estimated FA in March and it requests tax returns, W2s, and a couple forms by June. We submitted them in early May and then an official FA notice was posted a couple weeks later. For document status, you csn find it in WA in the FA section.
Scholarships usually have fixed amount so it may not have the flexibility as grant and loans.

It must just happen in the last couple days. They sent an e-mail to my D today for a new award notice dated today. It now matches the adjusted number in award summary.

Yes I am very happy, my grant increased substantially!

Thanks @billcsho. We never received any requests for additional info back in Spring. I guess scholarship amt is fixed then, unlike grants or loans. Still quite grateful :)

My son’s small scholarship disappeared, his grant increased and some of his loan amount changed from federal direct subsidized to Perkins. I was worried when I saw there was a new thing, but our actual loan amounts and expected contribution didn’t change.

@2016BarnardMom What was the name of the disappeared scholarship? Part of the grant my D originally got was the M-PACT “Scholarship” which is actually need based. It was merged with the Michigan grant when they adjusted the amount.

Yes, that was the one @billcsho I didn’t realize that it was need based and it was only $500 so… shrug

Yes, M-PACT is actually listed under need based grant. Typical amount is $500-$1000.
