When I start compiling my list of awards and achievements, does anything I've earned prior to high school mean anything? I just realized how much stuff my parents saved of my elementary and middle school awards but should I even bother listing these for the admissions people?

It's unlikely that admissions will care about even honors like National Spelling Bee or National Geography Bee. They care about h.s. ECs and honors because those are most likely to predict what you'll contribute to the college as a student.

An exception, however, might be if you got an Oscar or starred in a Hollywood film as a child actor. Presumably, however, that kind of award would indicate you'd have a lot to offer to the college including great publicity if you became a student.
