Awards and Honors

alright, so i just got to the part of the common application where you have to list any honors or awards. The problem is, I can’t think of one. Are there any really generic awards I can list just to avoid leaving the space completely blank? Or are there any honors that i could possibly be forgetting?

CSF, NHS, RPI Medal? Those are all of my awards, least the ones I can remember. My school doesnt really give any out.

I'd suggest asking your Guidance Counselor. Maybe your school gives out special awards and she can somehow "suggest" you deserve them if you talk to her, if you know what I mean lol.

But if you're part of any honor socities, put them down. Most people are in National Honor Society.

cool, i didn't realize national honor society was an award. At least it won't be blank anymore.

can we put ap scholar w/ distinction if we qualified for it, but havent recieved the paper awarding us yet?

are there any awards related to high scores on the SAT, SAT II's or AP tests?

Yeah, those awards are called offers of admission letters.

What's the difference between National Honor Society and CSF? CSF is what my school has, so I know nothing about the first...

what's CSF?

I'm going to put this in this thread instead of starting a new one... what in the world is National Honor Roll? Is it legit? My parents just got a letter stating... ahem .... "Congratulations! Because of Samantha's outstanding academic performance and membership in Quill and Scroll Society, National Honor Roll has selected Samantha for induction into the Spring 2005 National Honor Roll."

So, two questions:
What is it? Is it a scam like Who's Who? They specifically say they don't want money, though.

How am I inducted into the Spring 2005 Honor Roll when it's already Summer 2005?

Awards can be anything. Don't restrict yourself to awards given by your school - honor roll, Best French student, pink belt in karate, most improved blah, winner of an essay contest, third highest score in the school on X, AP scholar. (hint - ask your mother for ideas).

CSF is the California Scholarship Federation. It's like an honor society club thing in schools statewide.
