awards in middle school?

i was wondering if colleges consider awards from middle school... i have several significant ones....
do they tell you to discuss only high school awards?

If it's a National Level award, relatively prestigious, and even better if it included high schoolers, then you can discuss them, though I've never heard a true rule.

Most applications ask for awards and activities from high school only. However, if you have done an activity for longer you can discuss it if you want. My son was involved in science olympiad for 6 years and listed that and the awards won during that time.

My kids both have some significant middle school awards too. My d just moves onto highschool, but my son is a senior this year. He continued his excellent academic career into high school, so his high school awards eclipse anything he got in middle school. I think that is pretty typical. If not, then I think the Adcomms will wonder what is going on.
