I placed 2nd in the NCEE Economics Challenge West Regional. The name is kind of a misnomer because the so called "regional" involved 8 states of the western region of the united states. I had to win the CA state comp to qualify to represent CA in the Western Regional, so in a way it was a semi-national award despite the name. SHOUDL I STILL CONSIDER IT REGIONAL OR NATIONAL? REGIONAL SEEMS TO BE < STATE.

From my experience, state competitions are called State and regionals mean competition between a cluster of states. If it were my daughter, I would have her list the CA state win seperately (since that is a seperate competition) and then list the regional placement. You have to list the competition under it’s registered name (regional) so that they can (1) look it up if need be and (2) so that it doesn’t appear that you are fudging any info. That’s my opinion :)
