I know that getting good awards is a great thing to help get into great schools. I am doing research on my own for awards, but I was wondering if any of you have advice on what awards I should apply for in the area of service and volunteering (my main, and strongest activity). I already do tons of stuff in this area, so I might as well apply for some awards. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks muuuucho.
<p>Look into the Presidential Freedom Scholarship, given to acknowledge community service commitment (<a href="http://www.nationalservice.org/scholarships/aboutstudents.html%5B/url%5D):">http://www.nationalservice.org/scholarships/aboutstudents.html):</a> your school will need to offer it (the school matches the award money). There is also a President's Volunteer Service Award that is given annually (<a href="http://www.presidentialserviceawards.org/tg/PSSA/index.cfm%5B/url%5D):">http://www.presidentialserviceawards.org/tg/PSSA/index.cfm):</a> the group for which you volunteer needs to be a certifying organization (explained on the website).</p>
<p>Thank you very much! I'll look into both of those!</p>
<p>bump (sorry but i bet this is helpful to other people tooo)</p>
