I stumbed upon this forum recently, there's a ton of good info here.

I go to what I've seen some of you refer to at CCC (cali community college). I'm thinking of going to law school, and have always wanted to live in New York. So, in that respect, I think Cornell's ILR would be a perfect match for me.

Here are the stats, I'm a freshman in college and going to apply next fall to Cornell for sophmore year:

College
GPA: 3.9
Phi Theta Kappa
V.P. of the County's Future Lawyers Club
Summer Internship with Attorney
Started Local Charity Foundation

High School
GPA: 2.9
Lots to of clubs and volunteer services

You don't need the ACT/SAT for Cornell right?

I thnink I should get in becaue according to brand_182 ILR has a 50% transfer rate, am I right or am I just high?lol

1) You apply after two years at your CCC
2) You maintain a high GPA
3) You have excellent reasons and your interests show that ILR is for you.

It's true (according to Cornell's publications) that ILR had a 50% transfer admission rate for Fall 06, but I believe they have an interview (phone) for every prospective student so it's not something you can easily fake. Make sure that's what you want and have good reasons.

It's possible that ILR's apparent transfer acceptance rate is a little deceiving, as it is for other Cornell school's, because it is a statutory school and has special arrangements with in-state cc's. Still, I'm sure the OP can present a strong application.

It does appear that SAT/ACT is optional and it does appear that they require an interview.

Good luck, LetsTransfer. And congratulations on the strong showing you've had in your first year at ccc.

I am a little confused by your planned timing - if you have completed freshman year, how can you apply for fall transfer as a sophomore? Are you going to take a year off? If not, wouldn't you be applying for junior status in Fall 08?

There was actually a CCC student on the IBoasis boards and perhaps these as well that was accepted into ILR with only a years worth of CC credit and a sub-par high school record.

Good luck, I'm going to be applying to ILR as my second choice as well after CALS AEM.
