<p>I never say "North Jersey". I hate people who refer to our state as "Jersey", because they usually say it as though it's synonymous with "Dirrty" or "Tacky". These are the same people who think a New Jersey accent is pronouncing it "New Joisey"...for the record, lived here 17 years, NEVER heard someone say it that way.</p>
