Awful food at Crossroad

I am so disappointed by the food I ate at Crossroad today and I thought the Unit 3 cafeteria is ok. I was expecting so much more since my friends said the food will particularly be better than other days. There was really only two main course, hard and stale chicken or cold hamburger. How did you guys think the food was? The soup was awfully salty too. Maybe I was unlucky and picked the wrong pieces...

I wonder how healthy the food is and how they are prepared. I heard that there are kids who protested and tried to complain but just wasted their breath. I find it very very ironic that Berkeley sent us Omnivore's Dilemma yet still serve us horrible food..

Okay .

Yep, crossroads food was always bad. Foothill and Clark Kerr are pretty good IMO and almost worth the money.

lolllllllllll

Today’s food was unusually bad

Don’t worry about it. It’s usually significantly better.

Was it free today? I know it was last year for move-in.

The pizza at CalSO was terrible.

so for us living in unit 2, where should we go besides crossroads to get decent food?

That’s sad to hear…
I was hoping to take my family there for lunch haha.

hah.

go to that indian place across from the asian ghetto where thai basil is

In time, you will all find the good places to eat besides the dining commons. House of Curries and Naan & Curry has good Indian food. Berkeley Thai House is good for Thai. Sun Hong Kong (Kips) has good chinese food.

All the dining commons are a bit different. For example, Crossroads has that World Foods section which often features some type of ethnic food in addition to what they normally serve. Cafe 3 has a baked potato bar on some days and that little asian stand in the middle.

You can always check ahead of time to see what each of the dining places will be serving and then choose which one to go to. You can look at that here: [Cal Dining - Menus - Partners](http://services.housing.berkeley.edu/FoodPro/dining/static/todaysentrees.asp)

CC = blogspot now?

Also, the dining halls value organic food over healthy food.

thai basil is bomb

Wait you guys got a free book?

After eating at the DCs last year, I can say one thing: get used to really salty food. I don’t understand how they can serve such salty food - maybe they don’t taste it for themselves.

Maybe they won a lifetime supply of salt.

Vietnam Village!

There are two things the DCs have to do:

Cater to people’s dietary restrictions

Save money

Therefore you’ll get gluten free/lactose free pizza and crap like that. No, it isn’t a separate choice, it’s the ONLY choice! (That’s why the pizza tastes funny)

The Pizza at the DCs is the worst. Don’t judge the DCs by that.

Actually Crossroads was pretty good last night
