Awful GPA, Decent SAT scores, and I am in need of a few last minute schools to apply to

GPA Unweighted: 2.8
SAT Scores (new): 1180

My common app is well made, but my GPA is killing my chances at getting into any good schools. What are some good schools (preferably in the northeast) that I have a chance in? Don’t worry about tuition cost and things of the like, that’s for me to worry about. Thanks in advance.

This website has some recommendations: http://www.collegesimply.com/guides/2.8-gpa-colleges/?view=all

Lol…you’re a 17/18 year old young person who can only borrow $5,500 for freshman year. Unless your parents have said that THEY will pay, why waste your time considering schools that will not be affordable?

I see your concern, but I’ve made a good deal of my own money, so paying for college shouldn’t be an issue.

What do you define as a “good” school? Because many of us believe, for example, that most state universities are good. And as a full pay OOS student many will welcome you even with a 2.8 GPA.

Please use the Net Price Calculator on each college’s website to estimate your costs. You will want to check the probable cost of each college before you file an application.

How much money have you made? In the hundreds of thousands? For four years of undergrad at full pay you could spend $200K+.

Well, you could apply to Penn State Harrisburg or Erie, and if you do well you’d graduate from Penn State main (automatic transfer after two years).
UCincinnati is a possibility except in engineering. If you want a technical major, ITS is not impossible.
U Maine Orono, U Southern Maine are possible too.

You could start at a community college for 2 years to get your GPA up, then transfer to a state university afterwards. It’ll save you money, and make it easier to get into universities after you get your GPA up!
