Awkward Chances, but oh well.

Because why not?

I'm a rising senior in Illinois, who hasn't always completed his homework on time, especially during my freshman and sophomore years. As a result of this, my GPA isn't the highest.

Where I've been thinking about:
UIUC
UMich
Indiana
MSU
UWisconsin

I haven't been looking too far outside of the midwest, but any university anywhere would be fine, just as long as the cost is within reason. I don't know if I should look "higher" or whatnot, so any suggestions for additional places to search would be helpful. I'd want someplace with a population larger than 5,000 people, at least. Cost is an issue, but there's quite a bit of leeway. Anything over 30K could be a problem. As for a possible major, everything has crossed my mind from Philosophy to Physics, so that's not a concern for me right now.

Statistics & such:

GPA: 3.3 UW, roughly the same Weighted (My school doesn't rank, fortunately.)

ACT: 33

PSAT: 209 (If it matters)

SAT: 2190 (2200 superscore'd)
CR: 800
M: 660
W: 730

EC's and the like: 4-year member of the Band and Orchestra, Marching band, pep band, various other music-related activities. 4-year member of the varsity Swimming and Water Polo teams. I'm also a writing tutor at my school. A few community service hours, but nothing like building houses for habitat of humanity or anything. Currently Lifeguarding over the summer, however relevant that is. I'm sure that there are some other minor things that I'm forgetting.

Any feedback would be appreciated; thanks for your time.

I don’t know anything about those schools, sorry.

But I have a noob question. What does “rising” senior mean?

you’re a junior, going to be a senior. aka he’s graduating 09

I guess that’s what I thought “senior” meant. I didn’t think there was any need to modify the noun with rising. But it makes sense. Thanks

you’ll get in. UIUC and UMich are your biggest reaches, but your SATs are very strong.

You definitely test well. Just be able to explain your GPA if needed and you should be fine for most of the schools you mentioned.

Any suggestions for schools out of the midwest that I could possibly get into? Like Duke or something?

Michigan is a bit tricky - they are big on GPA.

I would say you’re in at all the others, definitely MSU and IU. Wisconsin is about 75% and Illinois is higher.

Michigan is 50/50.

^^ agree with a2wolves6 dude
