I’m trying to figure out the requirements for the exam, but I’m so confused about the SAT requirements. On the UC page, it said, “680 or better on the College Board SAT Reasoning Test, Writing (last administered January 2016).” But what about the new SAT, which was administered starting March 2016?

Note: the new-format SAT cannot be used to satisfy the ELWR.

It looks like you have to take the exam.
If your ACT English Language Arts (ELA) score is 30 or higher then you are exempt. This score is a combination of your English, Reading, and Writing scores.
Looks like the AWPE results are posted now. Look in the section that lists test scores (AP/SAT).
