I just got my AWPE score and was placed into English 004 lecture and English 004D. Is this bad? Will I be behind if I don’t take it over the summer?
I heard that means you “failed” the AWPE. You will probably 1 quarter behind.
Not really “behind.” About half of those who take the AWPE do not pass it the first time (and that’s across all UC campuses). And research suggests those who take an initial term of preparatory English actually do better in their total University coursework over time.
