Oh the only thing hurting me is that i am a snow white male from an affluent community in the suburbs of detroit where gangsters live and my parents are divorced.

Your GPA and SAT scores are VERY similar to mine. In addition, you take more AP classes than I do. This is significant because I have been accepted early decision to Boston University. You, too, have a very good chance of getting into BU. My advice: Shoot higher unless your GPA is prohibitive.

I can only assume you're right about your recommendations and essay. Your neighborhood has little to do with your chances unless there are too many applicants from your region or state. One exception is with schools that support affirmative action, but that's of no concern to you. AA can only better one's chances-- not qualifying doesn't hurt chances. Divorced parents and gangsters won't affect your admission chances whatsoever so long as you avoid writing about either in your essays . . . ; )

Oh, now I see. You spammed a number of school forums with this same message. BU is your dang safety. You probably couldn't care less. Please be more polite next time-- I hate wasting time on lazy or gratuitous chance requests. Thank you!

hey chill buddy i want to go to bu more than GW or BC actuall so calm down you didnt waste your time i appreciate it

seriously spamming??? see you in september and we will talk

I must have misinterpreted a few of your posts, then. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Thanks for your response. Yes, it is called forum spamming, and all it takes to fix is a brief introduction or "personalization" to the school. I don't care, no permanent harm done.

I hope to see you in September also. With the class sizes, though, I doubt it's likely to happen by chance. . . CCers will probably figure this out later.

Anyone else have some admission chances feedback for him? Again, I think he should be confident, but nothing is for certain. Agree? Disagree?

Well you did get in ED. I filed my app on Monday, so I don't think I'm quite qualified to judge. Stats are kind of similar to mine though, so I hope the chances are good.

Well, you know you'll probably be all right. I was admitted to COM ED. SAT score 1340-- 720 verbal ( I hate math),710 writing,3.7 unweighted gpa , many ec's - music select voice and instramental, drama, on the board of a very big community non- for -profit, school leadership offices, etc..Don't count on any merit awards unless you need financial aid, unless your sat scores are1500, and GPA is 3.9 or above.
Financial aid is a little more liberal. I was considered for a Founders Grand, but my Estimated Financial Contribution was $2,000 over the limit which is $200.00 under the cost of a BU education. This was mostly based on the fact that my grandparents died recently and my Mom inherited about $100,000, plus the fact that my parents saved for my education, and that I am an only child. I must say though that the financial aid office and office of admission have been very informative and kind in replying to our questions.
