This thread is from last year :)

Oh. Wowww. -_- Hehe. Thanks guys. :)

yea two of my friends nearby got the Axline during early rounds. not that it was much of a surprise... :P

i also think that axline includes automatic opportunities for the surf program?

btw is caltech sending out viewbooks this year? :]

Nope. No more viewbooks : )

Ben--Do you guys know who makes Intel finals? Or should I hurry up and send that update letter I've had lying around? lol

We typically have the list handy, but you should send a letter just in case, so it's prominently displayed in your folder when it's looked at.

Just sending an e-mail is okay and will be added to your file, right?

As far as I can recall, yes. If the email notification isn't enough, you'll receive a reply to that effect to your email.

~Gasp~ Flierdeke, you're an STS finalist too?????? No way, that's awesome! I'll see you there ;)

Thanks, Ben! I haven't gotten an e-mail back, so I guess it's okay.

...and to answer what looks like six questions, I'll let my six personalities vote: yes, yes, no, yes, no, and yes. I thought you were avoiding me? ;)

...but of course, I might not be an Intel finalist. I might just be wondering if Caltech'll actually check.

Well, flierdeke, if you are an Intel finalist, you'll have to deal with this REALLY weird, annoying girl from Massachusetts who did some project on Erchlenstrung-Weisenstrauss games or some weird junk like that. :

Oh, man. She could end up being my roommate. Maybe I'll just skip the whole thingI don't think I could deal with that.

...and how many times do I have to say that the second guy's name is French? Your version of my beloved EF games gets weirder every time you type it. You've just turned it into an EW game, for goodness' sake. ("EW! It's a worm sandwich!" "One point for Player Gross!")

(wow, we keep managing to steal threads and make them unintelligible. makes note to self to actually PM adam)

Ben - did the Axline letters go out on 03/15/2006?

I believe they did.

I am so amazed! The people that apply to Caltech and get the Axline scholarship are sooo intelligent AND motivated! It's incredible that in a university of the smartest kids from high schools around the country, people shine like crazy. If you got it, congrats! I'm not getting it....lol (not pessimism, but truth!)

Oh dear God, nostalgia thread, lol. Love it. (referring to the pre-STS banter above :p)

Ben, could you tell us who got this fabled Lingle Scholarship this year? :)

No, of course not :). That would be kind of along the same lines as posting who got in and who didn't laughs

Which would also be really nice, for those of us who're waiting for letters :-P

Kim--Have you still not gotten the letter??

The question of course isn't whether you got in but whether you got an Axline. Just for some background so you know what I'm talking about when I get home and IM you "so, did you get the Axline today?". :p
