Is there a big difference between the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences? As a pre-med student, should I even be concerned about it ...would it affect my chances for medical school? (I understand that Med schools don't care what major you have finished...as long as you finish your pre-reqs, but would having a B.S. look better than having a B.A.?)

Hope this is not too stupid of a question to ask...but this has been bothering me--especially when Berkeley has a weird collection of majors for students interested in pre-med.

Does anyone actually attend Berkeley right now...aspiring to apply for medical school after undergrad? What's your major? What are your suggestions onto what major I should do to best prepare myself for med school?

Sofa...you dont need to do any major to best prepare yourself. All you have to do is take the required classes cuz that will prepare you. My sister is attending stanford med school and was a philosophy major. Do what you will get A's in, cuz that's what you need.

Sofa if this helps: I know two people one of whom majored in Marketing and the other in Political Science and both got in to medical school. As long as you complete the pre-reqs then it does not matter. What I have heard though is that medical schools look for well rounded students who say majored in something outside of the usual science majors inc. Bio, Chem or Physics. So yeah...BA or BS will not matter as long as you complete the pre-reqs, score well on the MCAT and get some good professor recommendation letters for medical school :).
