How good is the B.C. B school? What is the education like? The recruiting? The Alumni network? Internships? If there is anything else feel free to add.

Dear nicky32 : Seriously, have you spent any time reading the pages of the Boston College board before posting these generic questions?

How “good” is the Carroll School of Management? Highly respected, well known in the Boston to New York corridor and provides a solid undergraduate business school foundation. Some rankings are now pointed to CSOM being among the top ten in the country.

What is the education like? You can look up the curriculum on the Boston College web site.

Alumni network? Extremely strong and robust.

Seriously, these questions are just too vague to offer some input of deep value.

Sorry, scottj. I’ve been to BWeek and saw their rankings, but I want to know from people that go there or know a great deal about B.C. It looks great on paper. How does B.C. compare to Harvard or MIT when I am trying to get a job in NY or Boston? Do teachers mostly focus on Finance Majors (I plan on being a finance major)?

1) Harvard and MIT clearly have a stronger alumni network, but that’s not to say BC’s isn’t up there as well. The issue here is not getting a job, because students from all three schools essentially get the same opportunities at various companies. The point of contention is how well the students are their respective colleges interview. If you’re a great interviewee, have loads of personality, and intellect; you’ll be selected by the respective firm, regardless of what college you attend.

2) To be honest, I don’t understand the second question. The professors are going to focus on teaching their own course and typically don’t gear the course towards the finance curriculum.
