B in a community college class

I am currently a rising senior and I am taking Calculus 1 at my local community college. I have a B in the class currently and I am worried about how that will look for colleges next year? I am taking the class online, and it is difficult to learn on my own. How does a B in a CC class look for top colleges? Should I just not report that I took the class? I am really frustrated because I am an above average math student, but I feel that I should not be getting a B at a community college. Any help is appreciated.

You have to report you took the class. If you are an above average math student you should be able to pull that grade up.

I’ve been told from several insiders that a good grade in calculus AP or Honors can be what pushes an otherwise borderline case across the goal line. I don’t think a B will harm an otherwise good application however. Why did you take an online course in such a difficult subject?

I wanted to get ahead, and I was foolish thinking that I could learn Calculus on my own in only 6 weeks. I pretty much am going to get a B. I guess I willl just take AP Calc AB next year during my senior year so that I can solidify my knowledge on the subject. Its just a shame, because it has been a tremendous waste of time.
