B in AP Stats

I got a B in AP Stats on my midyear report. Only one student out of 24 received an A in it, and they are all fairly capable students. Our teacher screwed us over early in the semester by giving us tests that had info on stuff we didn't learn in class and wasn't in our book. The class averages on those tests were in the mid-60s. Will Stanford take this into account when reviewing my midterm report? Is there any way that they would know there was only one A out of 24? Some of my friends in that class and I even complained to the high school principal about this teacher. I've gotten an A in every other math class (all honors/AP) I've taken, including AP Calc BC. In fact, I was the only one in my grade to have gotten an A in both the AB and BC classes. I also got an 800 on the Math SAT I and on the Math level 2 subject test.

A 3.9 is still a great GPA.

Don’t sweat it at all, saints. Your math cred is well-established. Good luck!

Saints, don’t worry. lmao. One B will not destroy a person’s chances. As long as you sustained good grades (and not like Flunked a grade in anything), you’re chances will be the same. And since it is an AP class, it adds to that fact

You got to remember that Stanford looks at more than grades. Stanford is not going to blow up just because you got one B in your whole high school career in an AP class. Your other math grades prove that you are very exceptional in math, so do not worry. To answer your question, Stanford only knows your grades, so they have no idea how well others did. Just remember that one or two Bs will not kill you as long as you show true self in the application.

It won’t do anything huge and you can’t change it now. STOP posting this in every top schol’s forum for christs sake!

AP stats seems to have a reputation for being ********. don’t sweat it.

It’s over for you now.

In the case that you get rejected, it is extremely unlikely that your B was the main culprit. Relax, and good luck!

you’re doomed. the adcom will undoubtedly see that b and, forgetting about your otherwise perfect math grades, realize what a horrible math student you are. application straight to the trash.

^moral of the story–CALM DOWN AND JUST ENJOY SECOND SEMESTER. YOU’LL BE FINE!

If you can’t get an A in high school stats, how will you ever survive in Stat 60 at Stanford…arguably the easiest math class?

PS: I’m just kidding. Don’t sweat it.
