B in Trig/Pre-calc; Wants to go into engineering...

I was stupid and screwed up in trig/pre-calc second semester. I didn't do a lot of homework, and the teacher doesn't accept late work, and that landed me a B. Honestly, the teacher is pretty bad, but I know I could have gotten an A so this was completely my fault.

Regardless, my question is how bad is it? I'm really disappointed in myself right now. I want to go into computer (probably software) engineering, and plan(ned) on applying to Mit, Caltech, Berkley, UCSC, and other schools, but that was while I still had a 4.0 GPA. I'm going to apply anyways, but my hopes are now a lot lower. I'm pretty sure I'll have straight A's for the rest of my high school career because this B has really woken me up, and I will be working harder now. Is there any way for colleges to even take a look at my application? Is there anything extra I can do? (take the AIME, etc?)
