B.S. Mathematics to M.S. engineering?

hello all.
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, this is my first post here!

I am currently at Penn State university.
I am looking at possibly transferring west, to either UW Madison or St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

I am in Aerospace engineering here, and St. Olaf is a small liberal-arts college. I was wondering, how applicable is a mathematics bachelor's degree to a master's in some kind of engineering?
Would physics be an easier transition?

Also, how easy is it to fill out a transfer application to these schools? I had ~3.7 UW gpa in high school, 34 ACT, Minnesota residency and several extra-curriculars.
I was previously accepted at Madison, and denied at Cornell U and Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh.

A math degree would be most applicable to the field of industrial engineering/ operations research, provided you tailored your courses appropriately.
A physics degree could possibly access graduate studies in engineering physics or electrical engineering, again assuming you took a tailored program of studies.
