Does the Darla Moore business school require that their undergraduate students have a PC (as opposed to a Mac, not as opposed to no computer at all)? I know that many other business schools I looked at did, but I never got a definite answer from Moore.

As far as a computer for college, get what you want. Yes, the business school requires using some software proprietary to the windows world. However, if you have an Intel Mac or acquire one, you can use Boot Camp (free utility) to run Windows operating system independently from the Mac operating system. Or better yet, you can use Parallels (costs about $75) to operate the Windows system simultaneously with the Mac system. This makes is very easy to have access to the PC software. (I find it runs Windows better than a PC machine does) You can acquire the desired Windows program (XP, Seven, etc) from the university at a very reasonable price. Even at full price, it is less than buying a new computer if you already have a Mac.

So, make the decision based on your needs and desires, not what people tell you you have to do. If you want a PC, great, If you want a Mac, great. Solutions are out there.
