A little bit of background about myself, I'm a freshman at the University of Portland right now and I really dislike it here so I'm looking to transfer. I had wanted to go to school in California originally, however I didn't get very good grades in high school so I was offered no scholarships from any of the Cali schools I was accepted to and had to go with Portland instead. I'm a Finance and Accounting major with a 3.54 GPA. I'm on the Dean's List but, I would assume that has very little meaning to any other school. I had a 2.91 GPA at Punahou School (Private school in Honolulu) which I know is horrible but I got passing scores on my SATs with a 710/670/650 for Verbal/Math/Writing respectively. I'm not sure what kind of bearing this will have on my transfer ability but I've heard that schools still take this information into account even after clearing 60 credits of college coursework.

On to schools. I had originally wanted to apply to either UCB or USC after getting two years of college completed however, with a 3.54, that is a very unrealistic goal. I've been thinking if I can get my GPA up to maybe a 3.6 or higher (I kind of procrastinated a lot first semester) I could have a shot of getting into either LMU or UCLA (UCLA would be a bit of a longshot too I guess). I don't really know too much about LMU's business school so any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, are there any other b-schools I should be looking into? I'm really open to any good school in California. Just looking for a school that will be able to help me land an accounting position after undergrad, though a school that gave some scholarships would be nice too!

Thanks!
