Work Experience:

Worked for a semester for the Middle School After School Care Program as a counselor. I worked for 2 days a week, for 2 hours after school.
Also worked as the football scoreboard animator for 3 friday night games

That's mostly it. I go to a really small school that has been continually ranked as one of the top school districts and top high schools in the country (public) and I'm in the top half. I take APs, so far haven't done well on the AP tests, and I'm looking at a few schools.

Ohio State University (OSU)-Main Goal

Cincinnati University (UC)-Safety

Stanford University-Long shot

I'm hoping my essay will help make Stanford and OSU more realistic, but I'm not sure. My counselor told me that Stanford was a long shot and that OSU was a maybe, and that UC was a "slam dunk". I'm not sure what other schools to even look at applying to. I'm interested in a CS major and so OSU and Stanford excel in those. All other colleges aren't really that well known for their CS (Other state schools and such) so right now It's only 3 main schools that I'm looking at.

Would appreciate any comments, advice, constructive criticism and suggestions.

It's my first time posting on this website but I'm no stranger to forums (hence my computer interest) and it seems most of this threads are by people who are amazing students with straight As, 5s on their APs, and with hours upon hours of extra curriculars and community service. It's really intimidating, and quite frankly I'm really scared that if I don't get accepted at OSU (a relatively cheap yet amazing in state school) then I'll be forced to go to some other school that is of much less quality because I simply can't afford to go anywhere else (UC).

I'm also scarred about my essay, have encountered some confusing issues with the OSU application, and overall am looking for some serious guidance here...

Thanks again!

I think you have really good chances at OSU and UC!

Stanford is a really long shot, but if you truly love it then it doesn’t hurt to apply.
