B Students ..

Can someone please name some colleges that a B student would probably be able to get into with great extracurriculars , and some college credits from taking classes , as well as maybe a year or two of sports . Thanks a lot .. Perferably in the NY area or localy C.A, just for kicks..
Not community college though . And no CUNY's please ..

How much your family can afford to pay will be a key piece of info to help here. If you can afford private colleges, there are many.

Hmom5 ; I am looking at private colleges but I’m also looking at public , right now I’m not sure how much they would be able to pay since times are rough. Not so much probably , ill need financial aid and as many scholarships I can get .

That really limits choice for the B student, unfortunately. You are not competitive for the generous need based aid schools and not a strong candidate for merit scholarships at most schools.

The SUNY schools are a good bet in NY, and the CSU schools in CA are not too expensive at about $25K/yr for OOS students.

Well I’m entering my junior year this september , and my gpa went from a 3.0 to a 2.87 by the end of sophmore year so I still have time to get my grades up , I live in california and id probably apply to UC’s depending on how well I do my next two years. I know about the suny’s and I’m looking at stony brook but I hear that its gettiing harder to get into . I’m also looking at a few private schools out there also. Thanks a lot for your time/help !

Top SUNY’s perhaps: Geneseo, Binghamton, Buffalo
also Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Alfred University

Thanks bobdylan444 ,
I have considered buffalo and syracuse, ill check into the others,
Thanks again !
