I recently read about the dual degree program between Brown and RISD where you can study for both a Bachelor of Arts or Science from Brown as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from RISD.

This sounds exactly like what I'm looking for, and I wanted to know if there were anybody currently in this program who could answer a few questions.

1) I'm thinking of majoring in Illustration with a minor in graphic design at RISD, and doing English at Brown. Is that possible? How restrictive are the curriculums? (i.e. Are you only allowed certain combinations of dual majors like say English and Sculpture?) I would like to take animation courses as well, and dabble in drama and music (piano & violin), and basically be allowed to explore. Will I be allowed this kind of freedom or am I strictly limited to taking courses related to my majors at either school?

2) Is this a double major or two degrees in their own right (so I am pursuing two full degrees simultaneously?)

3) I'm an international student, and according to the program website, students will pay according to Brown tuition fee rates. I believe this is good news since RISD is very pricy, although Brown doesn't seem much better. Is financial aid available to international students?

4) And finally, are there are programs like this between universities and art colleges?
