<p>I've never heard of a B.A. in engineering, but anyway, a B.A. consists of less coursework than a B.S. I wouldn't recommend getting a B.A. in Engineering.</p>
<p>However my suspicion is that many schools that offer both have an accredited BS and soften the requirements (and give up the ABET stamp) for their BA program to allow students who aren't intending to become practicing engineers but who want significant exposure to the area to take engineering classes but also have room in their schedule for other classes. Such people might be intending to start careers in technical sales or marketing, for example, or law.</p>
