BA vs. BS in Political Science

I'm currently a high school senior and will be enrolling in Southern Connecticut State University for my first few years of college beginning this fall. SCSU offers both a BA and BS in PoliSci, and I'm not sure which one to go with. I've been told that they're pretty much the same, with variations depending on concentration/career path. I do plan on declaring a major, though I've heard freshmen tend to change it a lot while exploring their options. Post-college, I would like to become a translator for the federal government in matters of law, or immigration and customs. I've recently chosen this career path as a more practical option (as opposed to a major in music theory, for example, which I had originally intended to declare).

I've also been considering several minors, as I will most likely be transferring after receiving prerequisite credits from SCSU. Minors I've had in mind are music, linguistics, Middle Eastern studies, or peace studies. Music is my passion, so wherever I end up, I definitely want to take some music classes if not minor in music.

In conjunction with PoliSci, I would eventually like to try for a double major in PoliSci and Farsi at a different college (one which offers Farsi as major, of course). However, I've taken a total of six years of Spanish at school, and am not sure if I should continue with that language or not. Farsi is not exactly new to me, as my father is from Iran and speaks it fluently.

I realize this is a lot to take in, but there are just so many things I want to do without overloading myself. Any advice as to which combinations I should go with to best fit my career choice? Thanks!
