I’m not sure if this school is right for me. I’m not trying to brag in this thread or anything. I’m trying to see if this is the school that I want to go to.

I’ve made money online, and sold a website for five figures at the age of 16.

I’m a businessman/marketer. I work with programmers, and I know how to raise money if I need it.

I feel that I should get into computer science/programming, since this is currently my main weakness (even though it’s hard but I think it will be more beneficial for me). I don’t feel it’s necessary to go to school to learn business. But I don’t mind going to learn about legalities, proper accounting, etc.

I know about managing employees already, this is stuff that I read on my own.

Any advice? I also don’t want to start a business after college; I don’t see it as a way of getting me to my end goal; of becoming wealthy. I think I will do this automatically after getting a job and then leaving and starting my own company.

Also I don’t like the idea of $3000, and then doing a business… I don’t really feel like competing against other people in selling “products”. like USB drives/ and pens…

My next project is a mobile advertising network, and I prefer trying to sell ad space to advertisers, etc. already have $25k committed from investors…

I didn’t get any scholarship, probably my academics is not good enough.

What other schools have you gotten into? I know RPI for instance used to have an incubator program; perfect for aspiring entrepreneurial electronic people. Also, what is your preference on student life? Those who have more knowledge of the school could give you a better idea if you may or may not like it (obviously this is subjective). Frankly, based on what you posted, you are a very motivated individual, and will succeed regardless of where you go, it’s just a matter of what you want to get out of college. Good luck in making your college decision.

If you want to improve your weaknesses I suggest another school as you seem like a successful business man even without the business degree congratz to you

I would suggest do computer science for undergrad and if you still want, do an MBA or a law degree after

Then, don’t attend Babson, earngator. Just by the way that you write, it seems that you’ve made your choice.

Comp Sci is a good idea, if you like it. Spending four years studying something you’re not that interested in doesn’t amount to much satisfaction in the end. Comp Sci changes so much that what you learn will certainly be outdated by the time you graduate or a few years afterward. If you don’t have an interest to continually update and use your knowledge, then what’s the point of making that initial investment, anyways? Leave the programming to programmers. Take some introductory courses, or take part in an independent study, but think smart. One possibility: choose a college that has the option of taking both science and business courses, and let yourself learn without tunnel vision.

you sound like a typical Babson student. BTW you’re not getting $3,000 to compete against people, you’re getting to learn how to work with others to produce a product.
Sales success isn’t really that important and not what you’re graded on.
