If you had to choose between Babson and Bentley, which would it be and why?

It depends what you want to major in. When I visited Babson, I felt that it was really focused on entrepreneurship and starting up your own business. As an accounting major, I felt that Bentley was a better fit.
In my opinion, it depends on your intended major.

Okay - I’m just shocked that more people haven’t responded! What’s up with that? Bentley has one of the top undergraduate programs in the country. I’m hoping and praying my son gets in!

Hey bkbmom,

I applied to both schools, but think babson is a bit conservative in terms of environment an d its emphasis on business. I feel Bentley would be a better fit for me, and I applied to both. Bentley campus is nicer when I visited. They are both highly ranked. Babson’s intensive business course seems intriguing though.

I was also deciding between both and ultimately came to Babson because I felt like I would be able to have a more well-rounded education and student experience… I liked the smaller classes, more personalized and hands-on education, and the ability to make an impact at a smaller school. At Babson there are also more international students and more of a global business component in the curriculum. As far a student life is concerned, it has a nice balance of on-campus activities and off-campus opportunities, and I also thought the housing options were better. All in all I definitely think I made the right choice because it offered me everything I was looking for in my college education and experience.

I was accepted early to Bentley and Babson and ended up picking Bentley. I was looking for a school with small class sizes that was really about business. Both schools had that, but Babson was too small for me. It was about the same size of my high school and I didnt want that. Plus I know Bentley is more well rounded b/c Babson seems to focus a lot on entrepreneurship and I want to be an accountant.

A lot of people seem to be stuck on the idea that Babson is only focused on entrepreneurship. This isn’t true at all. For example you can look at Babson’s rankings by Bloomberg:

Bentley’s for comparison:

Clearly Babson has more going for it than just entrepreneurship. I go to Babson and since FME freshman year I haven’t taken a single entrepreneurship course. Rankings are just one thing to consider though. Both schools are good schools and probably the best way to decide which to attend would be to visit both and see which one you think you would enjoy attending more.
