BAC/MD Program

<p>Hey, heads up for all the people that applied, usc just sent the letter to say if u got an interview. For the people that got the interview which day are u going?</p>

<p>i just got rejected</p>

<p>these are my stats: </p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 unweighted (school doesn't weigh or rank.)
Courseload: Mostly AP/honor courses with additional required classes.
APs: Soph. yr: - USH (5). Jr. yr: Bio(5), Calc BC(5, AB subscore, 5), English Language(4), Chemistry(4). Senior yr: - planning on Economics AP(Micro + Macro), Physics C, English Lit, Stats, and Multi Variable Calculus at Oakland University.</p>

<p>SAT: 760v/760m/740w (2260 best composite.)
PSAT:National Merit Semi-Finalist. (Hopefully finalist)
SAT iis - US History (730), Biology/E(720), Chemistry(750), Math IIC(800).</p>

<p>329 hours of community service, involving differnt jobs at local hospital.</p>

<p>Soph year summer: National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine.</p>

<p>Junior Year Summer: Michigan Boys State Camp.</p>

<p>Clubs:</p>

<p>Science Olympiad - Medalist at State and Regional competitions. Team finished 4/11/6th at states. Treasurer of Science Olympiad Team.</p>

<p>Club MED - Vice-President.
Project LEAD- Secretary.
Students Against Drunk Driving- Treasurer.
Chinmaya Mission Hindu Classes- Student Teacher
Michigan Tamil Sangam- Youth Committee Secretary.

<p>I'm disappointed. Considering I'm a trustee candidate, I was expecting at least an interview offer...not an outright rejection.</p>

<p>Dude Misoobishi I'm so sorry to hear about your decision. I know you have been realy adamant about going to 'SC after seeing all of your posts and stuff. Wow... you guys had really great stats, well it goes to show that there is no specific formula to getting into a college. Like sarahjhansen said, keep your chin up!</p>

<p>Thanks for the encouragement :) Yeah, I'm trying to keep optimistic. Which is fairly difficult, considering I'm a pessimistic person by nature lol</p>

the bac md program people actually do read your essays.
well good luck to everyone who did/didn't get interviews for bac md. it's an extremely competitive program and don't feel bad if you didn't get an interview you are still amazing!</p>

<p>and im a NMSF who just turned NMF, and a presidential scholar. yet...rejected</p>

<p>i think the program is getting more widely known and even more competitive than it was in the previous years. I think actually everything is getting more and more competitive!</p>
