Back to back classes?

I had nothing to do......so I tried planning out my schedule.
But as I was checking the locations of some back-to-back classes, I realized that the buildings are a few blocks away. (not sure how far they are-never been to the campus)
So, say if one class ends at 11 and the next starts at 12, do you run for it? Or do the professors come in late?

In my experience, most profs let you out 5-10 minutes early so you can make it to your next class.

I think an hour between classes is quite some time. It shouldnt take you an hour ot get from one to the other at any school.

Ever been to Rutgers? It could take an hour to get from Livingston to Douglass. At almost any school other than that, an hour should be more than enough time.

How are those back to back classes? Are you sure you didn't mean 11:50 and 12?

yeah... an hour is a lot of time.

yeah, whoops, i guess i wasn't thinking when I was posting that, lol, definitely meant something like one class is from 10 to 11, the next is 11 to 12

Depends on the campus. Some campuses you can cross in 10 minutes. A few blocks should be do-able. Keep in mind that professors (in my experience) don't much care if you leave early or come late or come at all, and if you miss something, well, that's your problem.

I wouldn't suggest leaving early or coming late. If you're gonna go to the class, then go to the class. Remember any important announcements will be made at the very beginning or very end of class.

You should probably be able to do a few blocks in 10 minutes. Distance from the 2 farthest academic buildings at my school is like a 9 to 11 minute walk. It's very close, but there's always people who do it. I have this next semester. Of course, I will be using a bike on those days...

Definitely visit the campus before you decide. If you can't do that is it possible to talk to someone who knows the campus enough to have an idea of how the buildings are laid out?

check http://www.ratemyprofessors.com or something to see if the teachers are known for letting out students early/starting late.

Don't schedule classes far from each other back-to-back, its just not smart. Personally, I try not to schedule classes back to back at all - the great thing about college is that its not a necessity. I like to have at least an hour before each of my classes for last minute studying or putting the finishing touches on a paper.

I've never had an issue when I've had back to back classes & the Davis campus is 1.2 miles square, sometimes the classes can be pretty far apart. We have 10 minutes between classes to sprint or bike if we have a class right afterwards.. if I have a test I need to make it to, I'll just sit in the back next to the door & sneek out a minute or two early to make it to my other class before all the seats fill up.
