Backdoor to CSU without taking Speech?

damn I hate public speaking and I hate speech...if UCs don't have this requirement why the hell does CSUs have them? I wanted to apply to CSU but I am in a dilemma because I have to take speech and I hear that it's one of their minimum requirements and even if you have everything else and don't have that they won't take you in....DAMN

what about taking communication in groups?
it is not as hard as speech... :)

If you're not into a lot of individual public speaking then take an alternative speech/communications class like group communication or interpersonal communication. I took interpersonal communication to fulfill my requirement. We mostly talked about communication problems between men and women, between parent and child, etc. Then in the end we did a group project culminating in a speech. Since it was group based individual speeches were allowed to be pretty short, in fact encouraged since if they had been longer it might have taken forever to get through them. The specific set up is probably different at different colleges, but I don't imagine it's drastically so.

Ah, speech isn't so bad. Take a short-term class and it will be over with in no time. You usually get to pick topics that interest you, and professor (and peer) expectations are never high because most people are afraid of public speaking. It will be one of the easiest classes you'll ever take, significantly less reading and memorization than any other comm class. Good luck!

When I took interpersonal communication it was a really easy class, you read the book and take a scantron test, I swear I only spent about 8 hrs total for the semester studying for the class.

well the thing is it has to be Speech 1 which is public speaking...

virtue_summer: is that true? I thought that it could only be public speaking..

whatever it says on ur IGETC.

Yeah i will have to take that damn class too sometime for pharm school. Might put it off till i transfer which is proly a bad idea.
