Backdooring might be a b**** move... but does it work?

So how easy is it to back-door at Penn? not for Wharton, but maybe into SAS?

i know of a guy who had decent stats, not good enough for Wharton or SEAS, but decent. he applied for Nursing, and being a male with decent stats he was basically a shoo-in. then after a year of nursing with a high GPA, he transferred to SEAS, did fine and got his degree.

is this type of thing commonplace? how much does the administration look down upon it or try to regulate it?

it's rather difficult to get into nursing if you haven't previously displayed interest in that side of healthcare

nursing admissions attempts to screen out obvious backdoor candidates
