<p>I read your other thread, and someone else brought up a good point. Since your grandfather is from Spain, you qualify as Hispanic, a URM. This is a huge advantage compared to Asian, which is an ORM (over-represented), and yes, Asians are held to a higher standard in college admissions. It’s too bad you didn’t figure this out sooner. If I were you, I would definitely notify the colleges I applied to, along with proof (perhaps a picture of your great-grandfather and an essay about him / being Hispanic). Since you’re so far removed from your Hispanic background, it might not help much. But who knows? Being a URM is definitely a hook at almost every college. Notifying colleges could be to your benefit or have no effect; you have nothing to lose.</p>
