My backpack weighs 28 pounds. Which is far too heavy for me to carry healthily. Is it wrong to label my backpack as "obese?"

Yet another useful complaint against certain selective colleges...

That is a perfectly reasonable request. In fact, I think you should sue your school system for contributing to the prevalence of obesity in the modern world and use your $931 million from your winnings to support a movement to cure backpacks of this unfortunate but inevitable tragedy.

I believe that you will be crowned a national hero and loved by all. Soon children everywhere will declare you a role model and prepare for a parade in your honor.

struggles as lifts backpack up the stairs "Curse you obese book carrier!"

.-_-.

The American Chiropractic Association recommends that a backpack weigh no more than 5 percent to 10 percent of your child’s body weight.

If you are 560 pounds, at 5% max, it'd be 28 pounds limit.
If you are 280 pounds, at 10% max, it'd be 28 pounds limit.

I think it's pretty ironic they do studies like that. Schools vow to "revolutionize the classroom and bring in technology", but our backpacks are still stuffed with textbooks and homework. Odd, isn't it, that my backpack is 10% of my bodyweight when it has my tiny Latin book and my science folder (10 pounds).

Oh well, only 8 years until my bachelor's degree.

.-_-.

As a sophomore I cut down my back-pack a lot -- mostly four-five pounds which is hardly 2% of my weight :)
My peak back-pack weight was last year in beginning of freshman year when I was carrying 50 pounds of stuff with weight of 215 but it was mostly american football gear :)

Why would you carry football gear? You said American football. lol

Everyday, I try to finish my homework in school. The heaviest I bring is usually one book, once a week.

Why would you carry football gear? You said American football. lol You have to wear gear in American football, duh.

By the way I found a post, You'd find interesting. To prove I'm right. I know you blocked me. :) I love being sherlock Holmes.

Nobody says American football. It's just football.

^ but in different countries football can mean something else.

And yes people say American football, just usually not in America.

It's America, he lives in America, he should immerse himself in our culture. He's russian and moved here like in middle school or something. By the way that link there doesn't mean anything to you guys except Mr. Chipset.

Chaostheory, your backpack can't be over 100 pounds. Ouch, that's horrible. As for Mr. Chipset, it's your schedule.

Yes, perhaps. ;)

Masterus, it's too unproductive and boring to dispute this thing with you.
You may think whatever you there wish to think, my schedule changes not a bit from your "arguments."
