backpacks

i was thinking of getting jansport backpack but im doubtful whether they'll last - should i get those big multilayered backpacks instead?

jansports are awesome and last forever. they’re like $20 on amazon and have a lifetime guarantee.

Hm, I don’t exactly know what you mean by “multilayered backpacks.” But choosing a backpack all depends on how much you think that you’re going to be carrying around. If it’s only going to hold notebooks, folders, pens, and pencils, then I would go for a a small one. But if you’re planning on carrying more text books and notebooks, then I would get a backpack that is able to support more weight.

Just make sure its waterproof.

I have Swiss Army. Black. Has lasted 2 years.

I personally like the Jansport backpacks that have one large component (for notebooks, binders, etc.) and then a smaller one (cell phone, wallet, little things).

I think the multilayered ones look kind of bulky, lol.

I started using my blue Jansport backpack in sophomore year of high school, and still am using it for this coming year as a college sophomore. They’re pretty good.

I don’t know about college but most backpacks i’ve had throughout grade school ended up getting destroyed after a year or two. I got a Jansport to use for high school and i’ve used it for just about everything, the backpack still looks almost new and I plan on taking it with me to college after several years of use. Very happy with it.

A friend of mine had a Jansport which he used from elementary school up to his senior year of high school. It started breaking down a bit but that must have taken almost a decade to do. :p

If you’re planning on carrying a laptop, look into Swiss Gear bags. Their products are extremely well made and should last a long time.

I have an Eastsport backpack that I used for part of junior year, all of senior year, and all of my freshman year of college. I also purchased it at a garage sale, so I don’t know how long it has been used total, but it is in fantastic condition still and I would not be surprised if it lasts through the rest of college. I tend to carry a lot of heavy books.

really? jan sports have life time warranty? bc mine broke after like 3 years -______-

i was thinking swiss army too where do you get those?
and then i was considering those pully ones since i always saw them at CSUF but then thats only one school.

The best place to get the swiss gear ones is on ebay, generally quite a bit cheaper. If not ebay, check amazon and buy.com

The last time I carry a backpack was back in 6th grade. I think it stunted my growth. Is it better to use a backpack instead of a messenger bag or even a tote bag (for girls)?

It’s better to use a backpack if you are carrying something heavier. If you have something heavy on one shoulder all day it’d do more damage.

If you don’t carry heavy things then it doesnt matter. I use my messenger when I’m taking my laptop somewhere to study and not much of anything else.

wearing a backback did not stunt your growth lol.

backbacks are best, but only if they’re adjusted properly. the weight determines how much slack it needs.

^ It did. For real. I lost half an inch after 6th grade. I’ve been using messenger bag and totes since then. As for waterproof backpacks, which brand is the best and don’t look too umm armyish?

i use totes and purses whjen i dont have anything heavy
bc its trouble some to have like a binder and pencils in you bag but then have to carry like 3 books so im a back pack person :]]

water proof but not army ish?

water proof but i doint know about quality xD

you could just use a roller if youre scared abbout stunting your growth lol but messengers make your shoulders lopsided xD

ohh yeah i looked at the swiss army website and they were like in the 100’s but on ebay theyre like 10 bucks :] yay!

JanSports are awesome. I’ve had the same one for five or six years now, and as long as you throw it in the washer now and then it still looks awesome.

jansports and the north face.

i tried using totes or whatever theyre called, pretty lame IMO.

Even though my Northface backpack is overdone, it has lasted for years, I love it.

If you can afford it, go for either the Jansport bag with lots of compartments (a bit more durable) or any of the Northface backpacks–I’ve had my Northface for 3 years, and it’s great. Really durable, I put my laptop and 2+ textbooks in it every day, never broken.

Swiss Gear stuff is very expensive, my backpack cost like $50
