I think they only accept freshman applications for fall. If you apply for winter, you will be considered as transfer student... though I'm not sure how that works if you don't have any college credits.

hmm... well, d*mn, that sucks. i'll let her know, but i guess she should look into it more. thanks though dopke for your response!

im also trying to decide :

u of washington
u of arizona (full-ride)
george washington u

uw would be just a little bit cheaper than gw. I;m mainly just considering u of a and uw right now, becuase they seem to offer a more collegiate experience. Though, i have not been able to visit the seattle campus. anyone know about the city? it seems to be more interesting that tucson, az, and thats one of the most important factors for me. correct me if you disagree.

thanks

It's been like a year since this thread started, so I was super surprised to get an email about it... but yeah, now I'm a University of Washington student so I guess I can answer your questions about the school.

Seattle is an awesome city and I love it. It has pretty much all the ammenties of a big city, without having that scary "I'm gonna be mugged factor" that you might get from NYC or SF. It's yeah.. just good.

I think that one of the biggest differences between University of Arizona and UW is the weather. In Seattle, it rains a lot (although not as much as people make it out to be) and there are times when you can go days or even weeks without seeing the sun. (In January we had like a 25 day span where it rained EVERYDAY.) It's not that bad, because you get used to it... but keep in mind that weather isn't always so great here.

Before I went to UW, I also thought that the city would be one of the biggest factors, but honestly, my prospective has changed on that upon coming here. I do enjoy having downtown Seattle 10 minutes away, but usually I'm too busy doing things around campus or on the Ave (the street adjacent to the campus) to have time to go there. I think I might just take downtown Seattle for granted now though. I think my opinion might be different if I went to a school that didn't have things so close...

Good luck on picking schools! I hope this helped a little. If you can, I really think going to the campuses of the schools you want to go to is the best thing to do. You never know how you might like it.
