I took the ACT yesterday and while I feel I did fine on all the questions, I do not think I did well on the writing. How much does the score I get on the writing factor affect my chances of getting into a college? I would think that if I had a bad writing score but good essays, it wouldn’t be too much of an issue, but I’m not so sure. Anyone have any ideas?
I had the same problem. When I called up the colleges I was applying for I found out that although they required you to take the writing section, they used your english score without writing to create the combined score. This might not be the same for all colleges, but its worth a call to find out!
Most colleges don’t care about the writing score too much (unless you bomb it).
