So I took the AP Physics B test this year and I don't think I will get a 5 or even a 4. (My teacher did not prepare us at all and i spent most of my time studying for AP Chem). My question is, if I take the SAT physics test and get a 750-800, will the good SAT score make colleges overlook my bad AP score?

Yes. Colleges don’t care for or ask for AP scores

I can smell the rejections from here. Only a 3 on an AP test??? You’re boned.

@guineagirl96 Unless you’re an admissions officer, that isn’t a definite fact. If colleges didn’t care, they wouldn’t care whether a student got an A and a 1 in a AP class or an A and a 5… they’ll notice whether the student learned anything.

@Jarjarbinks23 they don’t ask for them… Occasionally some might, but the vast majority don’t. Have you applied to college yet? Anyone who has would know this. I’m attending college in the fall. And colleges dont care whether you got a 1 or a 5 if you get an A. It’s possible you had a bad day on the test.
