So I took the Chem, Physics, and Eng. Lang. AP test in May, and I recently found out that my scores for the sciences were a 3 and the English a 4. Should I even bother reporting my science scores because I don’t want it to look like I didn’t submit because I failed (which I technically didn’t).
And will my 3s look bad for colleges like Cornell, NYU, Stony Brook, John Hopkins, Boston University, Northeastern, Washington U, and Georgetown?
(I really was surprised that I passed the science AP to be honest, but I thought I was going to get a 5 for the English.) ://
It’s better to send a score and let them know that you tried than withhold it and have them wonder whether or not you bothered to take the test. They only look at your self reported scores (any reports that you have the College Board send will only go to the registrar, not the admissions office). I really don’t believe that colleges look too hard at your AP scores for anything other than making sure you took the corresponding exams for your AP classes. It doesn’t have much bearing on admissions whether you have a 3 or a 4 or a 5; it only determines how much college credit you will get when you actually enter college.
Actually I wanna know whether I could only choose some subjects I take in AP tests and send them? For example, I took both bio and chem, but I only want to send my chem score, is that practical?
Btw I don’t think the 4 in English is a bad score. Often schools will give college credit for 4 or 5 score. Check with the colleges. My daughter’s school gives 6 credits for a 4 or 5 on AP lit or lang plus a 600 + score on SAT CR
