Ok, the title says it all, lol. I took AP Euro during my sophomore year. I did pretty good...had an A the whole semester, until finals...which took me down to a B+. lol.

Anyway, when I took the AP exam and received my scores, I got a 1???!!! I was seriously mad because those who got worse (like C's and D's) than me got like a 3.

Ok, I'm not dissing anything..only thing that concerns me is whether this will affect my chances of getting into college...like UC Berk/Davis/Stanford.

I don't want to come off as a person who is too much into grades, but srsly people, I mean I got a 1. haha

Thanks for the advice. If you have nothing good to say, please don't say it. I'm just concerned...I know grades aren't everything.

Hm, in this case, you do have a right to be concerned lol. A 1 is pretty bad, after all.

I suggest either retaking it or not sending in the score. It'll raise a red flag if you took the class but didn't send a score, but I'd rather leave ambiguity than candidly tell them I received a 1.

Ok I don't think i checkmarked any colleges when like putting down my name and all that junk during the test. But I thought that it is not a deciding factor..just something to give you credit for classes. BTW wouldn't colleges hate to give credit, since they are just losing money lmao

No, it wasn't the teachers fault lol. Well, I mean most of the time we spent watching movies and listening to crap, but I felt he was ok? Now, looking back, I guess he was ok in teaching....i think. But one thing I dont understand (this is a similar pattern that I've seen in other forums too) is that people who get horrible grades in the class get a 3,4,5 on AP exams.

I thought AP exams are harder than the classwork, since its more under pressure..but these guys somehow manage this. I don't get it haha

That's interesting. Do you mean like a C or D and a high score? Because I'll admit I got a B and a 5 (for AP Euro). Maybe it's because your teacher focused less on big concepts and more on smaller details or less on essays or something.

In apps, you don't send your AP scores. The adcoms generally don't find out them until AFTER you're admitted & pay your acceptance deposit & PAY to send scores to the particular school you'll attend.

It is true that some students get Bs and even Cs but still get 4s and 5s on their AP exams. You may wish to review AP books (the library & bookstores have them) before taking any future AP exams, just to see what is covered, in case your instructor didn't cover the material ON THE EXAM and prepare you as well as you might wish.

The scores do affect whether you will receive college credit at some colleges you may be interested in attending. If you go to the College Board website, they provide additional info about which Us provide what credit for which scores.

Main thing--don't stress but prepare more for future exams.
