bad bad senior grades.

i have a fairly solid SAT score (2200) and good GPA (9-11th grade) but my senior year grades are horrible. I am taking the toughest courses (6 IB courses) and im getting one C, three B's, and two A's. i applied to cornell, dartmouth, stanford, and johns hopkins. Will i be rejected because of my senior grades?

bumpp pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

I don't think you'll be rejected because of your grades, but they may hurt you a little bit. There are a lot of kids applying to those same schools also taking IB courses and getting higher grades. But they are not an automatic rejection.

thnks scarletleavy, other opinions?

Colleges are wary of students with major downward shifts in grades. When it comes to top colleges, the competition is so great, that there will be students with straight A averages (including senior year) in extremely tough courses and with outstanding, time-consuming ECs who you'll be competing against. That will hurt your chances.

One C isn't going to matter that much. its o-k, it happens to everybody. No cure for senioritis

k thanks. more opinions?
